Nonprofit & Ministry Work

Here are a few samples from nonprofit clients and ministries I’ve worked with.

Asbury Theological Seminary

While in seminary for my Master of Divinity from 2011 to 2016, I joined the Asbury Healing Academy and consulted for about a year to develop a two-year training program manual, which I outlined based on extensive interviews with the program leader. I designed, drafted, and edited the manual. Later, I moved to Wilmore, KY, and lived in the Spiritual Movement Center from 2015-2017, where healing retreats for the program were held. While in Wilmore, I became a student employee as the Assistant to the Director of Community Formation at Asbury Theological Seminary. I provided ongoing program support for classes, events, and retreats, including scheduling and communications. I regularly served in personal healing prayer sessions with the program director and helped lead the retreats. I also completed the Asbury Healing Academy curriculum requirements. The Covenant Center

I attended, served, and worked at The Covenant Center from 2004 to 2014, where I hold my ordained ministry license. The Covenant Center began as a small home group focused on growing in healing and the prophetic. The community worship was unique, based on 1st Corinthians 14:26, with space created for the community to share and lead the services. The meeting facilitator manual is available here. The worship was spontaneous music, in which the band would begin playing, and we would let the music develop. I sang prophetic worship for many years. I completed the two-year prophetic ministry school program, taught often, and helped kick off Covenant U online as an extension of the in-person curriculum. I also started the Covenant Publishing House and helped several authors publish books with editing, layout, and consulting support. I taught creative writing in the Covenant School of the Arts, which included music, dance, writing, and visual arts. I provided communications and marketing for arts training conferences, special events, and worship conferences. I managed communications for TCC for five years, producing emails, newsletters, social media, podcasts, blogs, and web development. When I left the community to move to Wilmore, KY to finish my seminary studies, work with the Asbury Healing Academy, and live in the Spiritual Movement Center, I shared these thoughts about what I learned there. Cathy Lechner

Cathy Lechner was a prophetic minister for whom I provided communications and marketing consulting for about two years. Cathy ministered regularly at The Covenant Center. I provided design help for her brand and launched her original Facebook channel that grew to more than 100,000 followers. She had a broad audience in Central and South America and the United States. Cathy Lechner passed away in 2019. View portfolio…

HopeNow

I provided communications and marketing services to HopeNow, a nonprofit that served men and women recovering from addictions. The program included a live-in facility in a jail that was no longer being used. For one semester of my seminary studies, I also taught weekly creative writing classes to the women in the program.
